Keep Northwood Singing

Keeping a program such as ours thriving amidst continuing periods of budget belt-tightening is difficult. At Northwood High School, the majority of the funding needed to help keep the choral music program vibrant must be raised by the Northwood Choral Music Boosters. To remain viable, the choral program suggests a minimum of $125 per student. We appreciate ANY amount you can give. Donations made to the program may help offset or eliminate the need for other fundraising activities. With that tax deductible contribution to our state recognized 501(c)(3) organization, you are investing in what will likely become the most memorable high school experience for your student and you! If you are unable to contribute financially, please consider providing much needed volunteer time.

By making a contribution you play a direct role in your child’s artistic experience. Studies show students who study music will see improvements in discipline, school achievement, social skills, and ambition. Music training, also, helps develop language, reasoning, and creative thinking. Most importantly, music teaches students the power of collaboration as it is crucial for the success of any musical ensemble.

  • Accompanist – the critical piece in making our program the best it can be
  • Sheet music – new music and music commissioned exclusively for NHS
  • Master Class – professional artist fees, planning, and logistics
  • Supplemental educational materials
  • Festivals – transportation, registration, incidentals
  • Wardrobe – repair and stock of some accessories
  • Marketing & communications – postage, printing, photography, and website

Your tax-deductible gift, no matter how large or small, is greatly appreciated and will go directly towards building the best choral program possible for your student. Each year your donations help cover the costs of our accompanist, sheet music, guest clinicians, supplemental educational materials, instrument purchases and maintenance, incidental musicians, recordings and videos, and festivals and other offsite performances. Your student’s participation in the program is in no way contingent upon your donation; however, we hope to continue to maintain the level of our programs. Based on the donations we receive, we may have to alter or cut some activities we have had in the past. Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. All donations are tax deductible, and 100% of your donation goes directly to the Northwood Choral Music Program. We appreciate ANY amount you can give. We offer “Thank You” incentives for various levels of giving. Northwood Chorus vouchers are complimentary concert tickets which have a box office value of $10 each. These vouchers can be used for any of the paid-admission choir concerts, excluding galas.
